Tommy Bar

The Tommy Bar

is designed for turning short lengths of rods.

To Use:

It is used by unscrewing the two halves and then inserting the threaded portion into the hole in the centre of the female coupling. The two halves are then refastened, holding the female coupling securely in the centre. The bar can be used to push, pull and rotate the rods. It can also be used in conjunction with the rod assembly spanner as a method of holding the female securely while tightening the male couplings.

Sizes Available:

Our Tommy Bars are made to be used with 6mm and 8mm Rods.

Rotating Wheel

The Rod Rotating Wheel

is designed to be used to rotate lengths of rods.

The wheel is an alternative to the Tommy Bar and Rod Extractor. Its advantage is that it offers easy grasping when rotating rods since it can be gripped at any point. It also allows more than one person to turn.

Sizes Available:

Our Rod Rotating Wheels are made to be used with 6mm and 8mm Rods.

Rod Hitch Tool

The Rod Hitch Tool

is designed to be used when you need to pull the rods harder than is possible by hand.

To Use:

To use the tool, slide the last coupling into the tool and attach a chain to the tow hitch of a vehicle, passing it through the loop in the tool. Once secured this will you to drive the vehicle away from the manhole, pulling the rods.

This is most useful when removing large root blockages from the pipeline.

CAUTION: Do not use this tool with a Drop Scraper, it may damage the pipeline.

Sizes Available:

Our Rod Hitch Tools are made to be used with 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Rods.

Rotating Handle

The Rotating Handle

is designed to allow you to rotate short lengths of rod quickly

To Use:

To use this tool you need to remove the female coupling off the last rod and attach the handle in its place. Grip the front of the handle in one hand and rotate with the other.

Sizes Available:

Our Rotating Handles are made to be used with 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Rods.

Rod Gripper

The Rod Gripper

is designed to grip the rod between couplings.

It allows you to pull the rods where you would otherwise not be able to. It is most usual when more than one person is pulling because you are not limited to only pull at the couplings.

The Rod Gripper is also very useful when the rods have broken and the coupling is out of reach.

Sizes Available:

Our Rod Grippers are made to be used with 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Rods.

Ratchet

The Sabricon Ratchet

is available in one and two operator versions.

It is designed to be used when rotating long lengths of rod or when you need to get extra torque on the tool. Ratchets are a fast and safe way to turn the rods.

To Use:

Connect the ratchet to the end of the rods by sliding the female coupling into the tube. Secure the female coupling with the locking pin.

Sizes it can be used with:

Our Ratchets are made to be used with 8mm and 10mm Rods.

Rod Extractor

The Rod Extractor

is designed to be used as an alternative to the Tommy Bar.

To Use:

Remove the pin and slide in the female coupling of the last rod. Push the pin through the female coupling to hold the rods. The bar should be gripped in both hands and the rods may be pushed, pulled or rotated.

The advantage of this tool over the Tommy Bar is the speed of connecting it to the rods.

Size it can be used with:

Our Rod Extractors are made to be used with 6mm, 8mm and 10mm Rods.
